Ocean Tailored custom wetsuits are constructed with a unique process in which the neoprene layers are triple glued, blind-stitched, then taped. Blind-stitching means the needle doesn't go all the way through the neoprene. Fewer holes, fewer leak points. Glued seams greatly reduce leaking and add strength to the seams. We triple glue ours for maximum strength. Tape prevents the seams from separating, and further reduces leaks. Add all these together and you get a suit that's extra warm, super flexible, and incredibly durable.
Ocean Tailored custom wetsuit is constructed with a unique process where the neoprene layers are first glued together and then "blind-stitched". This means the needle doesn't fully penetrate the neoprene layer. Following this, a heat-on tape is welded to the seam using an air heater machine. This technique enhances the durability, waterproofness, and flexibility of our wetsuits.
Melco Dots for extra strength. Round patches of Melco Tape are applied anywhere three joints of neoprene meet, and in seam areas that are put under the most stress (like seams and joints around the wetsuit entry points). This reinforces seam and joint strength, ensuring that your custom suit can withstand the pulling and stretching of daily use.
