Surfing, bodyboarding, kitesurfing, windsurfing, winging and foiling share many of the same demands from a wetsuit flexibility, warmth, durability and freedom of movement.

That's where the similarities end.

A surfer spends significant time paddling. A bodyboarder needs flexibility for paddling and kicking while spending most of the session in the water. A kitesurfer needs constant lower-body mobility and deals with high-speed water entry. A windsurfer spends extended periods exposed to wind chill. Wing and foil riders combine continuous movement with significant time above the water.


That's why Ocean Tailored starts with a proven performance foundation, then adapts the materials and technologies according to how the suit will actually be used.

Three Yamamoto Rubbers. Each With a Different Job.

After more than 15 years of making B2B wetsuits and working with 50+ international brands, one thing has become very clear to us that the same rubber shouldn't be used everywhere just because it makes things easier.

Different parts of a wetsuit do different jobs. The shoulders and arms need freedom to move. The main body needs a balance of stretch, warmth and durability. Areas like the knees need more strength and abrasion resistance. So for our Surf, Kite, Wing, Foil & Bodyboarding wetsuits, we combine three different Yamamoto rubbers.

Yamamoto #40 High Flex
Used through the shoulders and arms where you need the most freedom to move. #40 is exceptionally soft and flexible, making it ideal for paddling and other areas where maximum movement matters.

Yamamoto #39 Main Body
The heart of the suit. We use #39 through the main body for its balance of stretch, warmth, comfort and durability. Its excellent warmth-to-weight performance also helps us keep the suit warm without making it unnecessarily heavy.

Yamamoto #38 Reinforcement
Used in areas that take more wear, such as the knees. #38 is firmer and more abrasion resistant, making it better suited to areas where strength and durability matter more than maximum stretch.

#40 where you need movement. #39 where you need warmth and balance. #38 where you need strength.

Standard on Every Suit

GBS Construction

On 2mm and above, our standard seam construction is GBS (Glued & Blind Stitched). The seams are glued and blind stitched to keep them strong and flexible while helping reduce water flushing through the seams.

Extra Warmth & Seam Strength

From 3/2mm and above, our full suits come with fully taped internal seams and thermal lining through the torso as standard. The internal tape adds strength and durability to the GBS seams, while the thermal lining adds warmth where you need it most.
No upgrade needed both come standard from 3/2mm and above.

Grip Seals

Used inside the wrists and ankles to give the cuffs better grip against the skin and help keep them in place while you are moving. They also help create a closer seal at the openings, reducing cuff movement and helping limit flushing.

Fused Edge Finishing

Exposed edges are fused and compressed to create a much thinner finish at the opening. For example, a 3mm arm finishes with a thin, sealed edge at the wrist, giving it a cleaner feel while also strengthening the edge against repeated wear.

Not every sport needs the same features. Choose the setup that matches how you ride, from extra wind protection to better knee movement, water drainage and ankle support.

Wind Shield

Smooth Skin panels are placed on wind-exposed areas to help reduce wind chill when you are wet and riding above the water. Especially useful for windsurfing, kitesurfing and wing foiling, where riders can spend long periods exposed to wind.

Aqua Flush

Drainage holes at the lower legs give trapped water somewhere to escape after a wipeout or hard water entry. This helps stop water collecting and ballooning around the ankles useful for surf, bodyboarding, kite, wing, foil and windsurf configurations where heavy flushing can occur.

Ankle Straps

Adjustable straps secure the wetsuit around the ankles during high-speed riding and hard water entry. Particularly useful for kite, windsurf and wing/foil configurations, helping keep the cuffs in place and reduce water being forced into the lower legs.

Back Knee Grooves

Grooves at the back of the knees allow the neoprene to fold and flex more easily when you bend your legs. Especially useful for kite, wing and foil riders who are constantly changing stance and working through the knees.

Elbow Reinforcement

For bodyboarding we extend the #38 reinforcement through the elbows and add abrasion-resistant fabric over the high-wear area. Bodyboarders put more repeated pressure and contact through the elbows, so this adds durability where it's needed while keeping the more flexible #40 in areas where freedom of movement matters.

Premium Construction

Spearfishing & Freediving Technology

For our spearfishing and freediving wetsuits, we keep the material choice simple. Yamamoto #39 is our standard rubber throughout the suit, chosen for its balance of softness, stretch, warmth and comfort.

Where you have a choice is on the inside.

Open Cell

Open-cell neoprene has no fabric lining against the skin. The exposed neoprene sits closely against the body, creating a very warm, close-fitting suit with less space for water to move around inside.

The trade-off is convenience. Open cell is more delicate and usually needs lubrication with a wetsuit-safe lubricant or diluted shampoo/soap solution before putting the suit on. It also takes more care when getting in and out.

For experienced spearfishers and freedivers who put warmth and close body contact first, this is the traditional choice.

Lined Interior

For divers who want something easier to live with, we also offer #39 with a fabric-lined interior.

It is much easier to put on and take off, requires no lubrication and is more forgiving during everyday use. You give up some of the close-to-skin warmth of open cell, but you gain a lot of convenience.

For new divers, recreational divers or anyone who simply doesn't want to lubricate a suit every time they use it, we recommend the lined option.

The hooded version gives you continuous head and neck coverage for colder or longer dives while the hoodless version feels more open around the neck and comes with our Neck Relief Zip as standard

Diving Wetsuit Technology

Our diving wetsuits are engineered around the demands of recreational and technical scuba diving, with material selection varying by model. Tank Diving uses Yamamoto #45 for exceptional softness, flexibility and recovery, while Sport Diving combines selected Yamamoto grades to balance comfort, durability and everyday performance.

Tank - Yamamoto #45

Our Tank Diving Wetsuits use Yamamoto #45 throughout the main construction one of Yamamoto's softest and most flexible rubber grades and our choice for our highest-end diving suits

What makes #45 special for diving is the combination of softness stretch and recovery The rubber compresses as pressure increases at depth then has strong memory to recover toward its original shape after the dive

It is also exceptionally soft and elastic giving the chest shoulders and body plenty of freedom to move without needing to make the suit unnecessarily loose

For Tank this is exactly what we want soft flexible rubber that feels good around the body and is made for serious diving

Sport - Yamamoto #39 & #38

Our Sport Diving Wetsuits use Yamamoto #39 and #38 depending on the panel and available color combination

These suits are available in 2mm and 3mm and are made for recreational diving in warm to moderate water where comfort flexibility and easy everyday use matter more than building a heavy technical diving setup

Sport also gives you much more freedom with colors with 18+ colors and patterns available

Configure It Around The Way You Dive

No two divers use their wetsuit in exactly the same way Some spend hours around rocks and reef, some want maximum freedom in the water, while others simply want a suit that's easier to get in and out of That's why we let you set up your suit around the way you actually dive

Aqua Seal Back Zip

Tank uses an AquaSeal back zipper rather than a conventional wetsuit zipper helping us create the more sealed construction we want from our semi-dry diving setup

You still get the large familiar opening of a back zip which makes the suit easier to get into but once closed the AquaSeal zipper helps greatly reduce water coming through the zipper itself

Neck Seal

A closer neck seal can be added to both Tank and Sport

The neck is one of those places where one good flush can be felt through the whole suit so the additional seal sits closer against the skin and helps keep that unwanted rush of water out

Wrist & Ankle Seals

For divers who want a more sealed setup we can add an extra seal underneath the zippered wrist and ankle openings

Open the zipper get your hand or foot through then adjust the inner seal against the skin before closing the zipper The outer zipper makes entry easier while the seal underneath gives you that close secure feeling once you're ready to dive

Hooded or Hoodless

Both diving ranges can be worn hooded or hoodless but the setups are slightly different

Tank can be built with the hood as part of the suit or used with a separate hood while Sport uses a separate hood that sits into the neck area and closes underneath the zip

Go with the hood when you need the extra warmth or leave it behind when the water and conditions don't call for it

Neck Relief Zip

On hoodless suits we can add a Neck Relief Zip

When you're back on the boat or waiting between dives just open it and take some pressure away from the neck then close it again when you're ready to get back in

It sounds like a small thing until you've spent a few hours wearing a diving suit

Diving Pockets

Different dives mean carrying different things so we don't limit you to one pocket setup

Add a pocket to one thigh or both thighs and choose from three different options — a smaller pocket with a flap a larger zippered pocket or a simple attachment hook for accessories such as a torch

Choose what you actually need and leave off what you don't

Dive Camera Holder

A dive camera holder comes standard on both Tank and Sport because a camera is something many divers want close without having another piece of gear hanging around them

It gives your camera its own place on the suit so it's close when something worth filming appears and out of your way when you're concentrating on the dive

Reinforced Shoulders

Reinforced shoulders come standard on Tank because this is exactly where BCD straps tanks and other diving gear keep rubbing against the suit dive after dive

We add the extra strength where the equipment takes its toll while keeping the soft flexible feel of #45 underneath

It's one of those areas where a little more material in the right place can help the suit stay with you much longer

Hip Reinforcement

Some divers see very little wear around the hips while others have equipment rubbing against the same place on every dive

If that's you we can reinforce the hip area as well giving that contact point some extra strength without adding reinforcement everywhere else

Knee Reinforcement

Knees can take a beating around boats rocks wrecks and rough surfaces so you can choose how much protection makes sense for the way you dive

Keep the reinforcement around the knee or extend it farther down the leg and choose between our more flexible abrasion-resistant material or our toughest heavy-duty option when you know the suit is going to see harder use

Elbow Reinforcement

Elbows are another area where a perfectly good wetsuit can start showing wear long before the rest of it

We can reinforce them with our flexible abrasion-resistant material or go with the heavier-duty option when you regularly find yourself against rocks wrecks equipment or other rough surfaces

The idea is simply to put the tougher material where your suit actually needs it

18+ Colors & Patterns

Our 2mm and 3mm Sport Diving Wetsuits are available in more than 18 colors and patterns because recreational diving doesn't mean everybody needs to look exactly the same
